Salad in a Jar

What’s Cooking With Coach Mo? Episode 4 – Let’s make salads in a jar!

Salad in a Jar! Beautiful, Fun way to make your salads and prep you meals for the week!

First you need the quart size mason jars, wide mouth ones are best.

Then find all your favorite salad toppings, cheese, chick peas, cucumbers, olives, chicken, turkey, eggs, avocados, sprouts, sunflower seeds, etc. Whatever you like, you can add it!

Start by pouring a little salad dressing in the bottom of the jar. This is optional and you can add the dressing when you eat your salad.

Layering is key, place the large items, olives, tomatoes, etc, on the bottom and fill about half way up. Then add your cheese, lettuce will be last. Place a small paper towel on top of the lettuce before adding the lid. This will help keep the lettuce crisp.

Prep 5 of these jars at one time (per person) to have a lunch ready to go for the week! Keep in the fridge until ready to eat. I find it best to put the salad in a bowl or large plate when ready to eat. Enjoy!!

Let me know what your favorite toppings are!
