Adrenal Fatigue, Do you have it?

Adrenal Fatigue, Do You Have It?

Are you tired for no reason? Trouble getting up in the morning? Need coffee or caffeine to keep going? Feeling run down or stressed? Crave Salty or sweet snacks?

These are just a few of the symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue. My daughter and I both have fibromyalgia. We have been working hard for years to become healthy and to minimize our pain and fatigue. With diet changes and supplements, I have just about removed my fibromyaliga pain. However, I still feel fatigued most days. Rainy days makes me so tired and I haven’t been sleeping well.

My daughter decided to start looking into Adrenal Fatigue. I’ll be honest, I didn’t quite understand where or what an adrenal is, but she bought some books and we started reading. I was very surprised what I found out.

I am only 1/4 of the way through the Book “Adrenal Fatigue, the 21st Century Stress Syndrome” by James L. Wilson.

There is an extensive questionnaire in the book and after taking it, it shows that I am severely adrenal fatigued.  Now I have a starting point, I will look into a test to physically check my adrenal glands, but this has been very interesting to read on how our bodies work and how important those little glands above our kidneys are to our overall health.

Diet is a huge part of recovering your adrenal glands.  I eat healthy, fruits, vegetables and lean meats, limited dairy, nuts and beans. I do also like chocolate and decaf coffee. Those two items seem to be what I should remove next. I have a wheat, oat, corn and potato allergy so I know I am disciplined enough to remove what I need from my diet to feel better, but I love chocolate. I am willing to try what I need to do to feel better.

I am going to finish reading this book in the next week or so. I would love to hear your feedback on any adrenal fatigue tips you have and what you have been working on.

I will share more as I learn it and what is working for me and what isn’t.

The book helps you choose what to eat and what time to eat. Sleeping schedules are important too but that is going to be difficult at the beginning in my house. I am a night owl and I need to change that.
